Monday Musings: Connection

Jeremiah 9:24 says, “…let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the LORD.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24 NKJV)

Trying to get online
The internet keeps crashing
It’s holding up my life
In characteristic fashion
The things I want to say
Are fading from my brain
As the server blips and flips,
Unaware of my disdain
And so it is with life—
There’s just no reliable switch
To make things go one’s way
And create a euphoric niche
There are trials we must face
And life’s unplanned “side dishes”—
Things that just won’t “go away,”
In spite of our whims and wishes
And so we have a choice—
Though the internet often fails,
Our connection to God’s always open,
And no bills will come in the mail
Though our lives may not be perfect—
All things fitting in boxes with checks,
Our technician is perfect, all-knowing,
And we don’t have to wait to connect.
