Oregon

My favorite parts of Oregon
Are the beaches and the streams;
Wading creek beds hunting crawdads,
Scouring shores for shells that gleam.
I also love the mountains,
With their flowers growing wild
And hidden trails of mystery
I would trek as just a child.
The valleys are so beautiful—
Rich forests all around.
You're never far from nature,
Even in a larger town.
But I prefer the rural scene,
Where little lambs eat ivy,
The farmers tend their cows,
And the ducks are plump and lively.
Indeed, it has its problems
And some weeds within its patch,
But the beauty of my Oregon
Is difficult to match.
